I had a travel dream in high school and caught the travel bug in college during a study abroad in Spain (in 2009). How lucky was I to get to see the world, experience new cultures, and do adventurous things?

Then…I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease.

The year after, I had an incredible experience abroad. Getting sick was a slow process, and like a frog boiling in water, I didn’t notice it happening.

It took months of searching and talking to doctors. A friend in medical school started researching for me. I’ll never forget her call. “I think you should try something, but I don’t think you’re going to like it.” She asked me to try eating gluten-free. Within two days, I felt so much better. That was in 2012.

I thought Celiac was the end of my dreams.

Trying to live gluten-free at home was hard enough- If you’re here, you probably know the feeling! Travel is intimidating enough to figure out. How was I ever going to figure out how to travel with Celiac?

Wouldn’t I get sick everywhere I went?

Would traveling with Celiac Disease be fun?

Do I have to pack all my food when I go?

Did all of my travel dreams go away with my diagnosis?

I figured I’d spend my days sick in a hotel room if I tried to travel.

It was intimidating, scary, and felt impossible.

I figured it out!

I was determined to figure out how to travel and manage my Celiac Disease safely. It turns out I am quite good at planning trips and avoiding gluten when I’m traveling. I’ve been able to work my way through every adventure I’d imagined!

I’ve traveled to six continents, 28 countries, 32 US States, 29 US National Parks, and who knows how many US cities. I’ve never been glutened, not even once.

I started by visiting cities and countries known to be gluten-free friendly; I have my own US and Europe recommendations now.

Let me help you!

If I can figure this out you can too! I love helping people. #enneagram2

If you have dreams of being your own travel agent, I’ve got you. I love to plan trips!

I do a lot of research when I travel, and I don’t see why I shouldn’t share it with you so you don’t have to!

Let me show you how to plan your own trips and/or travel gluten-free safely.

I’m excited to share my travels with you!

I hope I can show it’s possible to travel well with Celiac Disease.

Have specific questions or want help planning a trip? I’d love to be a part of your adventure!
